For our project we were set on this idea of a product that will take away the odor of your outdoor activity clothing. Everyone contributed to the brainstorming and design plan. When the next class came around, no one in the group agreed to like this idea so we all brainstormed more to figure out a new design product. We then became set on a product that will keep heat in your house. We are designing an insulated tarp-like item that will go over your windows to keep heat in. The progress we have on this right now is what it would be successful as a product. We are now looking into cost options for this item and a design for it. Everyone in the group is contributing equally and presenting their ideas. Working in a group has been successful thus far and we were all to look up more information for this product and present it to one another on class Monday. I feel I am helping with the idea process to this new product and could help more by looking up information to further the process of it.The design of the tarp is going to be more like a hexagon that will be able to tear apart to fit any size window. It is going to be able to stretch without tearing or coming undone from the other pieces. I hope that more class time will give us each a job to work on to fulfill the requirements for the project.

The last chapter of the book was about design and how it has changed throughout the years. This makes me think about what is going to come with it in the future with thinking how technology grows today. It feels like just a few years ago when texting was a big deal, now almost every cell phone made requires you to have the internet and there is anything you can do now a days from your phone. Technology has grown so fast. With the change in design over the years this makes me wonder what will come in just a few years. With the project were working on now in class it was a challenge for my group to come up with a new product because everything we would think of has been created already, but there a new designs that come about every day.

Reading Reflection

 What I got from reading was how wasteful we are to the environment and nature. I hope more people get something out of reading this and will care more about their surroundings and take into consideration being less wasteful and hazardous to nature. The book talked about nature's efficient system of turning waste into food.  It explained how humans messed the system up. A lot of the examples given were a shock to me because I was unaware of how much it destroys nature. Another part that interested me was the wind energy.

Course Reflection

In class we were able to hear about the former students that are now design faculty had to say about the program. It was interesting to see their progress and the work they created when they were students and see their path grow and where they are today. We then did the marshmallow challenge which was challenging to work as a team to come up with a design. It was funny to know the statistics about this challenge where kindergarten’s had more success than anyone else who attempted it.
