Course Reflection

In class we watched a documentary on copyright infringement. The video was about Girl Talk and how he used pieces of artists songs and remixed them to make his own. The argument was whether or not he was stealing it and guilty of copyright infringement. The movie also brought up a lot of the history behind it with Walt Disney productions which was a shock to me how strict they are. One thing that was ridiculous to me was about the copying of mickey mouse at the child daycare. I feel that Girl Talk was stealing the music but shouldn't be considered guilty of copyright infringement. I feel it needs to be more lenient when it comes to remixes like this. Otherwise I really enjoyed watching this documentary, it was very interesting and entertaining.
